These are essentially injections that are distributed in a series of treatments. During these sessions, the technician refills specific areas of the face with a gelatinous solution often made from synthetic, biocompatible hyaluronic acid, calcium hydroxylapatite, Poly-L-lactic acid, or polymethylmethacrylate beads. With the intention of filling out areas of the face that have reduced in volume due to age, illness, or environmental damage, fillers reintroduce a level of plump youthfulness to the face by mimicking the collagen and fat loss from the skin and tissues.

Some of the most common uses and areas for injectable fillers include:

  • Lips, Sides of Mouth
  • Cheeks
  • Age lines
  • Nose
  • Under Eye
  • Chin and jawline
  • Eyebrow, Brow Bone

Most fillers are a non-permanent solution made from biocompatible synthetics that are dissolved by the body overtime. Depending on which area of the face is treated and which filler solution is used will affect the length of time of noticeable results. The most common length of time for noticeable results among our clients is 12 – 24 months, so annual maintenance may be required if you intend to maintain your results.

Some filler solutions can be adjusted or dissolved if you would like to reverse the treatment or adjust the aesthetic outcome, however, we recommend seeing through the treatment plan as created by your clinician before requesting changes. Although results can be noticed immediately after treatment, some clients may have minimal side effects including slight bruising or swelling and may not be able to determine if their treatment has addressed their concerns until the side effects subside.

Please note, some filler solutions can be dissolved if you decide to have the treatment removed while others may not. Please speak with your treatment provider about your unique solutions and plan if you have concerns about wanting to remove or enhance your fillers.

Yes – there are different injectable solutions, doses, and number of treatments depending on your goals. Your clinician will be able to recommend a treatment plan to help you achieve your desired outcome, however, a broad overview of the most common fillers includes:

  • Collagen – suitable for deep lines and some scars
  • Hyaluronic Acid – suitable for thin surface lines around the mouth and across the forehead.
  • Hyaluronan – suitable for deep lines, acne scars, and as an alternative for people who are allergic to collagen.
  • Poly-L-lactic Acid – suitable for skin depressions and deep lines.
